Kirath

"After the War of the Lance ended, the Silvanesti elves found themselves forced to clean up the nightmarish mess that Speaker Lorac caused by using the Dragon Orb of Istar...The elves who accepted the challenge of confronting the forest's dangers without full back-up were known as the Vanguards of Hope, or kirath'aglos" - excerpt from The Sylvan Veil

Kirath (Prestige Class)
Once used for reconnaissance the Kirath now patrol the forests surrounding
Silvanost. One with the Silvanesti forest these elves are unseen eyes that burn
into the back of your neck, as you walk alone in the woodland.
Some are sent further afield than the SIlvanesti woods, to watch and observe
those who would be a threat to the Silvanesti, as messengers who stop
at nothing to reach their objective.
Rangers, rogues and druids all make excellent Kirath as the Kirath's skills
compliment these classes perfectly

This is a Spell-like ability usable once per day per Kirath level. Tree Walk: The Kirath have the supernatural ability to use adult, living trees of sufficient size to encompass their whole body, to act as a portal to any other tree that the elf knows of specifically or can see (through normal or magical means) within the listed range. This ability is similar to the Dimension Door spell but only up to the listed range, and is usable as the Shadowdancers Shadow Jump ability (Page 34 Dungeons Masters Guide). The Listed ranges are doubled within the SIlvanesti forests. Intensify Nature: Once per day per Kirath Level the Kirath may cast equivalent of a minor image spell that represents a natural setting (eeries forest noises, rustling bushes, whispering winds, bleeding trees, etc) to distract or frigten foes. Ears, Eyes, Voice of the Wood: Kirath can attune themselves to any animal they can see or are familiar with (a druids animal companion, or a ranger's trained squirrel for example) and See, Hear or Speak through that animal as long as the animal is within 100ft per Kirath level (double that in the Silvanesti forests). These supernatural abilities are usable 3 times per day each, and only effects non magical, non giant or dire animals. Companions of other druids, charmed or summoned animals are also immune to this ability. The Kirath does not know why his ability has failed simply that it has. Example: The KIrath does not discover that the dog he is attempting to attune to the charmed guardian of the bandits mage, he simple knows that the dog is somehow immune to his ability. Sneak Attack: Functions as a Rogue's Sneak Attack, except it can only be used in a forest/natural setting. Page 47 Player's Handbook. Craft Soris, Firebane: Kirath may craft a soris or firebane cloak as if they had the item creation feats: Craft Magic Armor and Craft Wonderous Item (only usable to make Soris and Firebane cloaks). A Kirath can only have one each of these items in existance at any one time. If he gives either to a non Kirath then it eventually loses its powers, in one day per Kirath level. The Kirath must still pay any experience or gold costs to craft his particular soris or cloak. Form of the Wood: A Kirath can Wild Shape as a druid of 5th lvl once per day into a single animal (chosen by the Kirath when he earns the ability) Druid Kirath gain an additiona use of their Wildshape ability to assume a small or medium sized animal. As per the polymorph self spell Liveoak: Kirath may cast the Liveoak spell to animate a tree. This spell-like ability functions as a Liveoak spell using the Kirath level as the caster level The Kirath cannot use the ability again until he dismisses the tree guardian he currently has animated, the duration of the spell expires naturally, or the guardian dies. If the guardian dies the Kirath cannot use the ability again for one week, and for 24 hours after the guardians death, loses any remaining use of his Treewalk ability, as the surrounding trees refuse to surrender to his ability for the death of the guardian. The Kirath Prestige class is drawn from the Kirath Kit and Role found in the Dragonlance product The Sylvan Veil and the Shadowdancer Prestige Class found on page 34 of the Dungeon Masters Guide.
